Alan Godfrey

Alan has swum most of his life. Some of his early memories include training in the Forbes Carlile squad with Shane Gould, Karen and Narelle Moras, and others; he was in the slow lane!

Alan has seen many changes in masters swimming, starting from the early Aussi (Australian Union of Senior Swimmers International) days in Sydney with Coogee-Randwick in the early '80's, and then Powerpoints in the late 1980's here in Melbourne.

Alan has been an active member of all the clubs that he has joined; and has been a member of The Glamourhead Sharks since 2009, first swimming with the Glams at the Outgames in Copenhagen in July 2009;   He has won the Glamourheads Outstanding Swimmer award 4 times.

Alan has been a registered Masters Swim coach since 2007, and has coached at several clubs, being awarded MSV Coach of the year for 2015.  He started coaching with the Glamourheads in 2015; and has also been coaching at Powerpoints since 2016.  As a coach Alan tries to prepare swimmers and help them to accomplish their goals.  He is very technique oriented; the idea being that improvements come with better technique, as well as reduced injury, and improved fitness.

Caroline Symons - she/her

Caroline Symons taught and coached swimming as an accredited level 1 coach many years ago, has extensive University teaching experience and as a senior academic lead teaching and learning at Victoria University in undergraduate and postgraduate courses (curriculum and staff development and management) covering physical education, sport and exercise science, sport coaching and sport management. She has swum with the Glamouhead Sharks since 2005. On semi-retirement Caroline returned to coaching swimming, having completed her AUSTSWIM and her Masters Swim Coaching accreditation and received coach mentoring with Glams Head coach Jason Buckner.

Kodie Webb - he/him

Kodie was a competitive swimmer for 10 years as a teenager, competing in events up to Australian Age Championships level. As an adult, Kodie resumed swimming in 2014 when he became a member of the Glams. Since this time he has enjoyed being an active member of the club including being a regular swimmer at training sessions, competing at Masters events both within Australia and internationally, contributing to the committee and now as a coach.

Kodie enjoys assisting swimmers to meet their goals whether that be to do their best in competitions, gain fitness or improve their technique. He takes pleasure in passing on what he has learnt about swimming throughout many years involvement and aims to deliver sessions which cater for swimmers with different motivations and of all abilities.
